I was pleasantly surprised by the number of independent cafes that have opened up in Mauritius and that actually serve amazing food! Whilst I was growing up on the island I couldn't even dream of having a chai latte or a macaron, but now the little island is becoming a hub for trendy cafes with diverse and delicious menus! One cafe that I particularly liked was The Junction, located on the West Coast of Mauritius in Black River and sitting under the large trees which ideally shade the area, the best is to simply sip on a homemade lemonade whilst reading through their varied menu. From delectable salads (I personally recommend the four cheese one), to homemade burgers to scrumptious desserts (another favourite is their Crunchie chocolate cheesecake) this little cafe is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat and simply relax and enjoy a summer's day.
